10 Times "Best For Business" WWE Decisions Sucked
8. Triple H's Reign Of Doom
The Triple H Title Reign of Doom (as it is referred to by nobody) that lasted from late 2002 to mid 2003 - and saw 'The Game' devour a slew of ex-WCW stars (namely, Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Kevin Nash) - had a greater purpose.
WWE was clearly preparing its biggest heel for a summer showdown with the much-heralded Goldberg, who - after protracted negotiations - had finally signed up for a year-long stint on Vince McMahon's books.
The logic was sound, and it's perhaps true that Goldberg wouldn't have generated the same level of fan support without being placed up against a seemingly immovable, win-at-all-costs paper champion.
But, greater good or not, seeing Trips closing nigh-on every show with a routine title defence got pretty old after a while.
