8. When Dumb Storylines Like Katie Vick Took Place In 2002
Katie Vick. The name immediately draws laughs from wrestling fans while also making us cringe just thinking about her. That image of Triple H simulating a sexual act with a dummy in a casket that was supposed to be Katie was something that all of us wish we could forget. This was all part of a main event World Title feud with Triple H defending against Kane. Who thought it was a good idea? We don't know. If there was going to be a payoff for that Triple H feud with Kane it should have been Kane winning the World Title from him since Hunter was having sex with Kane's dead girlfriend in a funeral home! Instead, Hunter won like he usually did and Kane was booked to look like a loser like usual. They did a lot of ridiculous angles in 2002 too. We got to see things like Billy & Chuck having a commitment ceremony, the terrible acting of Torrie Wilson's dad Al, Hot Lesbian Action leading to Rikishi dressed in drag and don't forget Hulk Hogan driving a truck into an ambulance containing The Rock that Rock returned from within a couple of weeks without any kind of pain. There were other bad angles that year too and when you factor those in with some other things that happened that year, it turned off a lot of fans. The business definitely suffered a drop off after 2001, which could be why WWE was so desperate to try all those stupid storylines in 2002.
