Goldberg vs. The Undertaker at Super Showdown 2019 in Saudi Arabia was a disaster and nearly a tragedy. No one expected a five-star classic from the two ageing icons. However, even the critics couldn’t have predicted just how bad a sloppy botch fest the match would be.

Although the battle of Monday Night War rivals had fans buzzing with anticipation, it also had critics very sceptical, and rightfully so. It was fair to question if the 54-year-old WWE icon The Undertaker and 53-year-old WCW icon Goldberg could pull off a match deserving of the Super Showdown main event.

The match quickly took a turn for the worst after Golberg sustained an apparent concussion after ramming headfirst into the ring post. They went on to botch an ill-advised tombstone reversal spot that wrestlers in their prime sometimes struggle to execute correctly, and Goldberg nearly broke The Undertaker’s neck with a botched Jack Hammer. The Undertaker questioned his own abilities following the match and his own wife, former WWE Superstar Michelle McCool, called it a trainwreck.
