10 Times Companies Have Dropped The Ball With Sting

5. WWE Make Use Of The Sting Imposter

When Sting first signed his brand spanking new WWE contract, millions hoped he'd be facing The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Technically, that could still happen at some point, but it doesn't look likely this year, and if the company don't pull the trigger on it this time around, the likelihood of it ever happening rapidly diminishes. Instead, Sting's first big opponent in the promotion looks to be Triple H, the head of The Authority. Cutting an in-ring promo recently on Raw, The Game challenged Sting to meet him face-to-face at the new Pay-Per-View, Fast Lane, and Sting accepted. Only, it wasn't the actual Sting who appeared. Various men dressed as the character appeared in different parts of the arena, bathed in light, only for darkness to once again envelop them. Eventually, there was one in the ring, someone fans are presuming was Heath Slater. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90hr7CDL3EQ Some feel the trick looked quite cool, and plays into the mind games of the Sting persona, whilst others think it came across as cheap - instead of paying to have the man himself there, fans had to put up with people simply wearing the Sting outfit. This one didn't really get a great reaction from the live crowd either, who seemed to recognise it wasn't Sting straight away.
