10 Times Companies Have Dropped The Ball With Sting

4. Who Let The Dogs Out?

1999 wasn't exactly a year to remember for Sting - not only did he have the shortest WCW Title reign in history, but there was the small matter of his feud with Rick Steiner. Wrestling can be a pretty literal business at times, so because Steiner was referred to as the 'Dog Faced Gremlin', Rick started hauling some big mean canines around with him. As if any more fuel needed to be thrown into the fire of WCW-related madness, Steiner set his dogs on Sting during a match backstage, later claiming that his pets pinned his opponent for him. So, not only did Sting have the shortest World Title reign of the year up to that point, but he was also beaten by a dog at The Great American Bash, an event he'd beaten Ric Flair on nine years earlier in a mat classic. Needless to say, this wasn't one of Sting's finest moments. Wrestling fans can complain about the way WWE are using him thus far all they want, but at least they haven't had Lassie beating him in a match...yet. This is the same promotion which had The Undertaker's wife pin DDP, and he's a former WCW World Champion too!
