It wouldn't be long though until things started to get strange. Rather than utilising Bryan's wrestling abilities, WWE decided to join him with the Bella Twins. Now, a lot has changed since then and it can now be argued that Brie and Nikki Bella are decent in-ring competitors, but that wasn't the case in 2010. At this stage, they spent most of their time hanging from the arms of celebrity guests. They couldn't have been further from Mr. Wrestling Daniel Bryan. You can almost hear Vince's mocking laughter. Unsurprisingly, this angle eventually turned into the Bellas competing for Bryan's affection, supposedly setting up a feud between the two with Bryan in the middle. It wasn't to be. In fact, he eventually forced them to hug and make up before revealing he had been secretly dating Gail Kim all along. The whole thing was as pointless an angle as you could find, with no one gaining anything from it apart from being humiliated on national TV. So how did he overcome the odds? Well, in 2016, Daniel Bryan is now happily married to Brie Bella and anyone who has watched Total Divas will know that they are adorable. During his retirement speech he declared that she "completed him in a way he didn't think possible". All things said it is safe to say he won that round.
