10 Times DX Absolutely Buried Other Wrestlers

5. The British Bulldog

A little over five years after thrilling fans by becoming new Intercontinental Champ at SummerSlam 1992 in Wembley Stadium, The British Bulldog lined up at One Night Only in September 1997 to defend his nation's honour. He'd be facing Shawn Michaels for his European Title, and what should have been a famous night for Davey Boy Smith turned into a nightmare.

Nonsensically, he was booked to lose his belt on home soil just so DX had another plaything.

In Michaels' defence, the idea might have worked had there been some follow up. There wasn't. Like, none at all. Following the show, Shawn literally handed off the European Title to Triple H and Bulldog was ousted from the equation. He'd been made to look foolish in front of his own people, presumably all so D-Generation had some more trinkets.

Surely it would've been better to have Bulldog vow revenge on the next UK special. If he had to lose on the night, he should have at least done so with knowledge of a rematch or the promise to fans that he'd hammer Triple H and take back his prize.
