7. The Dynamite Kid Refuses To Relent

The Dynamite Kid wasn't well-liked backstage during his peak 1980s WWF run. His mean-spirited pranks and bullying ways made him a target for those willing to stand up for themselves, but supporters argued that Dynamite was, well, dynamite between the ropes.

That's a fair assessment - his big-bumping, high-flying style acted as a template for countless wrestlers who followed. Unfortunately, Kid's staunch refusal to mix up his game cost him big time in the end. Dynamite's injuries were severe, and he masked his pain by medicating. There was no way he was gonna change his ring style.

Long-term, that proved to be a huge mistake.

It was likely ego-driven too. Dynamite had earned rave reviews for his stunning matches, and he couldn't stand the thought of giving that acclaim up. By refusing to relent, Kid would eventually succumb to his injuries and end up wheelchair-bound.

He became even more bitter and twisted towards the end of his life, before sadly passing on in 2018.
