10 Times Fighters Used Their Signature Move In A Movie
6. Anderson Silva - Never Surrender
Anderson Silva is a once in a generation talent.
Emerging from a culture of brutal, not-a-step-backwards sparring at the famous Chute Boxe gym, the Brazilian would have been forgiven for adopting the hyper-aggressive style that had brought success to so many of his teammates.
However, Silva would instead forge his own path as a professional fighter, utilising a mix of techniques from traditional martial arts and Muay Thai to become one of the most devastating and cerebral strikers the sport has ever known.
The Spider's matrix-like performances inside the Octagon led Silva to become one of the most celebrated mixed martial artists of all time and opened the door for opportunities away from the sport.
Silva made his acting debut in the so-bad-it's-good MMA film Never Surrender alongside a host of other UFC and PRIDE veterans. In Never Surrender, Silva engages in a fight scene with the film's protagonist, portrayed by Héctor Echavarría.
Anderson demonstrates the kicking range that brought him so much success during his UFC tenure, but is ultimately overcome by Echavarría with a capoeira-style tornado kick to the head.
