There will never be another wrestling legacy like The Undertaker's WrestleMania winning streak. From WrestleMania VII in 1991 onwards, 'Taker went undefeated at the event until WrestleMania XXX in 2014. Securing 21 straight victories on wrestling's grandest stage, it seemed like 'The Streak' would never come to an end.

In fact, some had even concluded that The Undertaker would retire before WWE had the chance to end the legacy. By his own volition, 'The Deadman' decided to stare at the lights for the first time at 'Mania, doing the honours for Brock Lesnar. As soon as the referee counted his shoulders down, the air was sucked out of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Eyes bulged out of skulls, hands were placed on heads, and mouths were left agape. Lesnar had achieved something nobody thought would happen: he had ended 'The Streak'.

Beforehand, the idea of a winning streak had been used to promote The Undertaker's appearances on the annual supershow. Without it, WrestleMania didn't seem quite the same. Certainly at the time, there was a weird mix of anger and surprise that the winning run had been halted.
