10 Times Hulk Hogan Was The Worst Babyface Ever

8. Ropey Rumble Reaction - Royal Rumble 1989

Another match, another one that doesn't go his way, and another one where white meat babyface Hulk Hogan loses his sh*t.

Billed since day one as 'every man for himself', Hogan often tended to forget that in the Royal Rumble matches that he was eliminated from. And one such Rumble match came at the 1989 edition of WWE's annual January PPV.

At that time, Hogan and Randy Savage had been involved in a burgeoning rivalry with Big Boss Man and Akeem. But to be fair to the powerhouse heel tandem, their Royal Rumble elimination of The Hulkster was by the book and perfectly within the rules of the match.

Not only did Hogan throw a hissy fit and refuse to leave the ringside area, Hulk would then pull the ropes down to eliminate Boss Man from the match. It was totally uncalled for, it was a total dirtbag move, and it was completely not a babyface thing to do.

It's also worth noting that Hogan had already had the shine of the match, with him eliminating a then-record of ten competitors - which conveniently included his BFF of the day, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage.
