7. Chris Benoit Vs. Kurt Angle

Taking to pro wrestling like the proverbial duck to water, Kurt Angle was a complete natural. It's not uncommon to hear the Olympic Gold Medal winner described as a 'wrestling machine', such was his penchant for working great matches so quickly.

Within a year of making his WWE debut, Angle had been chosen for a WWE Title reign.

Conversely, Chris Benoit had a much longer road to the top in the industry. After years of toiling without much fanfare (from management, at least) in WCW, he signed for the then-WWF in 2000 and rapidly established himself as a true workhorse in the promotion.

It was only natural that he and Angle would collide at some point. Once they did, they became linked until Kurt left the company in 2006. Whenever WWE needed that go-to match that would be a surefire hit, it made sense to put Angle and Benoit in the ring together.

Bouts such as those at WrestleMania X-Seven, Unforgiven 2002 and the 2003 Royal Rumble prove they were made to work alongside one another. Their matches were nip-and-tuck affairs, with fine margins being explained as the difference makers.
