10 Times John Cena Silenced His Critics
1. Vs. CM Punk (Money In The Bank 2011)
WWE have only managed to put on one Dave Meltzer-rated five star match since the turn of the millennium, and it didn't feature Shawn Michaels, or Daniel Bryan for that matter. Cena's era-defining match with CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011 has gone down in the annals of wrestling history, partially because it was the major touchstone of Punk's pipe-bomb run, but also because it was utterly captivating viewing.
There's no doubt this was the Summer of Punk, but he needed a Rock to his Austin, an establishment to his rebellion, and Cena - at this point, still in equal parts revered and reviled by the WWE audience - was the perfect foil. Together, they put on a pulsating half-hour show-stealer, booked (and, more to the point, executed) to perfection.
