10 Times NXT Was As Dumb As WWE's Main Roster
3. Leon Ruff Is Small LOL
Leon Ruff is not very big. Did you know that?
Standing 5'7ft and weighing 157lb, Ruff is pretty slight, even in comparison to the 205 Live roster. Most people do not care though, with modern wrestling fans being more accustomed to seeing professional wrestlers coming in all shapes and sizes, using their particular builds to alter the course of their matches.
Someone at NXT did not get the memo.
Ruff was brought in under the guise of Johnny Gargano's North American Championship roulette open challenge, with Gargano rigging the wheel to avoid contentious competitors such as Kushida, Bronson Reid and Damien Priest among others. Ruff though would actually upset Gargano and pick up the win and the NA Championship following a crucifix driver.
In the post-match, the previously-ringside Priest would celebrate with Ruff and go to put the title around his waist. As he did this, the championship slipped down to his ankles because Ruff is small guys, do you get it? It has since been reported by the Wrestling Observer that Ruff winning the strap was down to "somebody in creative thought it was funny".
Ruff being made the punchline because of his size is no different to Otis' entire SmackDown run.
