10 Times The Main Event Was The Worst Match On A WWE Show

2. Hulk Hogan Vs Sid Justice (WrestleMania VIII)

Hogan likes to downplay the extent of his backstage influence in WWE, but there’s no explanation for this clash going on last other than the big blond bruiser throwing his weight around.

Hogan vs Sid Justice had absolutely no business headlining WrestleMania VIII. The latter had less than a year in WWE, and while his look is undeniably great, in no world was he going to put on a great match with Hogan, whose finest days in the company were behind him.

And that’s before you consider the ending - a DQ - and the execution thereof, botched by the late arrival of the interfering Papa Shango. It’s all building up to the return of Ultimate Warrior, and while that moment was cool, Hogan’s reunion with his pal/rival is not the stuff of a major show conclusion.

In hindsight ‘Mania XIII should clearly have ended with Randy Savage’s title win against Ric Flair, a great match of genuine consequence with a conclusive (if not entirely clean) finish, but once again, egos prevailed. It remains a candidate for the biggest WrestleMania screw up of all time.
