10 Times The Opening Match Stole A WWE Show

4. Hell In A Cell 2017 - The Usos Vs. The New Day

They’re two of the greatest tag teams of the modern era, but neither seems especially suited to waging war in the unforgiving cell. The New Day are technicolour jesters, and the Usos are proud warriors but not exactly a fiendish pair. If they seem a bit too PG for cage match brutality, you’ll think again after watching this match.

The four men involved (Kofi Kingston watches from outside) go all out in a masterclass of team chemistry and utilising your surroundings. They ensure the stipulation is used to its full potential, with the New Day locking Jey Uso into a corner with kendo sticks through the bars, and the cache of weapons below the ring being deployed early.

The match starts off relatively light, with Xavier Woods wielding his signature trombone, but once it gets rocking this is a physical, heavyweight affair that does exactly what the cell should do: cap off a feud.

Your other Hell In A Cell match for the evening involves Shane McMahon. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t live up to this one.
