Remember back in 2011 when WWE signed Mexican sensation Mistico and renamed him Sin Cara? Well Cara my not have lived up to everyone's expectations (yes, I am being polite) but at the time of his arrival he was a pretty big deal. WWE went all out with video packages and a spectacular ring entrance and made sure everyone knew that this guy was going to be huge. So much was the hype machine behind him that Cara was one of the most talked about wrestlers in the Spring of 2011. So talked about that TNA took notice. Not long after Cara's debut, TNA introduced their own lucha libre sensation Sangriento. TNA didn't offer any information on where this luchador had wrestled previously (no, Mexico isn't enough) nor who he had feuded with, nor which names he had used in the past. That is because outside of TNA, Sangriento never existed. It was just former X-Division Champion Amazing Red in a silly mask. Talk about jumping on the bandwagon. But then, at least Red got featured on TV again!
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
