Chris Benoit went from being regarded as a "vanilla midget" (Kevin Nash's words) in WCW to one of the most successful and respected wrestlers on the planet just a few years later. He owes a lot of his success to guys like The Rock, Kurt Angle and Triple H.

Trips was the one who put him over big time at WrestleMania XX by tapping out to the Crippler Crossface, and he was the one who then jobbed for Benoit against three months later at Vengeance; the latter loss is often glossed over even though it was by far the biggest pay-per-view defence of the Canadian's World Title reign.

It's also worth noting that Benoit beat Triple H in an hour-long 'Iron Man' match on the 26 July 2004 episode of Raw too. Those three victories helped cement the man as a bonafide WWE headliner, and ended his tireless journey towards the peak of the industry.

The irony is that Nash's real-life pal helped get him there.
