10 Times Triple H Ripped Off Ideas

9. The Shield (CM Punk)

Though WWE will likely never willingly admit it to be the case, the mastermind behind the original formation of The Shield was none other than everyone's favourite ice cream bar advocate CM Punk.

Early on, the company were planning on throwing 'The Voice of the Voiceless' into a stable alongside Big Show, Daniel Bryan, and an FCW up-and-comer, with Seth Rollins being thrown into the mix as the fresh blood.

Punk understandably felt this wasn't the best idea, and instead pitched forming a heel alliance with three FCW newbies which would see him join forces with Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Chris Hero. However, Vince McMahon and Triple H weren't the biggest fans of Hero, so Roman Reigns was brought into the unit instead.

Ultimately, the dynamic young team would hit the ground running, yet they would never officially align with Punk. In the star's own words, "Things f*cking change. They like to take other people’s ideas, make it their own idea, and then tout how awesome they are. So it then became Hunter’s idea.”

Things would work out pretty well for the trio regardless. But let the record show, this was not 'The Cerebral Assassin's personal invention.
