10 Times Triple H’s Ego Ran Wild In WWE

7. A Mark For Himself

Only a fool would argue that Triple H's impact on WWE developmental hasn't been a net positive.

As the man behind NXT, 'The Game' has revolutionised the concept, elevating the black-and-gold brand beyond a mere training school. Closer to a glossy, big budget super indie than the territories of old, it's now a fountain of high-workrate in-ring spectacles, and the swathes of readymade stars it has sent to the main roster over the years speaks to its efficiency. Still, there's no denying that certain elements of Triple H's involvement in NXT are rooted in ego.

Rarely does anything big happen in WWE developmental without Triple H taking a backstage snap with the protagonist, then heading to Instagram, with his NXT mark pics as inevitable as TakeOver main events delivering. When Bayley and Sasha Banks made history by headlining TakeOver: Respect, 'The Game' made sure you knew it was his doing. He has opened countless NXT shows with corny in-ring hype promos. The list goes on.

Triple H is right to be proud of his work, but these minor spotlight-hogging moments are driven only by his thirst for attention.
