10 Times Vince McMahon Got Tired Of Playing With His New Toys
1. Shayna Baszler, WrestleMania 36
Former mixed martial artist Shayna Baszler picked up quite a bit of steam during her NXT days. She made it to the final round of the 2017 Mae Young Classic and later made a splash by defeating Dakota Kai via referee stoppage. By the end of 2018 NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, she was the NXT Women's Champion.
Lights were shining bright for Baszler. In 2019, she was the first woman from NXT to invade the WWE main roster. On the 10 February 2020 episode of Raw, Baszler went straight after Becky Lynch by biting her neck. She also tore up all other Women's Championship contenders in an Elimination Chamber match where she squashed everyone with the Kirifuda Clutch.
On the way to WrestleMania 36, WWE seemed to be all in with Baszler, having her wreck the roster on her path to defeating 'The Man.' However, there were rumblings about Vince McMahon losing interest in her, as he was not completely "sold" on the fighter. Coinciding with those rumors, Baszler failed to dethrone Lynch.
Since her Women's Championship match with Lynch, Baszler hasn't been viewed in quite the same light, often playing second fiddle in the main storylines. As for late, she's serving as Women's Tag Team Champion with Nia Jax, but the accolade does little to help as she serves mostly as Jax's heater and rarely gets to display the same dominance she did at the beginning of 2020.
