10 Times Vince McMahon Got Tired Of Playing With His New Toys
2. Apollo Crews
During his time in NXT, Apollo Crews made a helluva impact and quickly became one of the main performers. Upon arriving on the main roster in 2016, things seemed to be on the upswing for the rookie as he started to duke it out with the likes of AJ Styles and The Miz.
From there, though, Crews began to lose his momentum. As quickly as optimism came in, it went home. He mingled with Titus Worldwide for a while, but he didn't do much else of note. It wasn't until four years into his main roster career that Crews captured his first championship in WWE when he defeated Andrade on a 2020 May episode of Raw for the United States Championship.
By June, however, things were turning back upside-down. After MVP approached Crews about joining the Hurt Business, he challenged for the title. Crews was unable to compete, and therefore MVP proclaimed himself the new US Champion. It seemed as though Crews was going to return with a bit of a push when he reclaimed the championship, but those thoughts were laid to rest once Bobby Lashley defeated him one week later for the belt.
Besides being drafted to SmackDown in 2020, there hasn't been much of a focus on Crews despite popping up from time to time in the midcard. His momentum comes and goes quickly, leaving him without much of a relatable character or place in a larger storyline.
