10 Times Vince McMahon Got Tired Of Playing With His New Toys
6. Emma(lina)
For 17 weeks, WWE pushed the return of Emma with 'The Makeover of Emma' vignettes. The idea was that Tenille Dashwood would ditch her former Emma gimmick and return in a more divaesque fashion.
Although the character didn't quite fit the performer, WWE went along with promoting the grand appearance, telling the WWE Universe Emmalina would make her debut on Monday Night Raw the following week, each week, without following through.
Once the return of Emma was considered a running gag amongst fans, Emmalina finally did make her debut on the 13 February 2017 edition of Raw. She came out, showed off her new look, and then informed fans that she would go back to being Emma.
That was it. No explanation was given, and Emma returned to her own gimmick as she gradually fell off of Vince McMahon's radar.
In 2017 October, Dashwood appeared on Lance Storm's Killing The Town podcast to give the inside scoop on Emmalina:-
"I don't know, I guess there was an idea to it and they kind of realized along the way that wasn't me. That wasn't for me at all. I mean, I'm just not a diva, you know? I'm not like that at all. And I just want to wrestle. So I think they kind of realized that along the way or something like that and just were like, let's just have her be Emma and have her be herself and we were able to bring that back around."
And that was that.
