10 Times Vince McMahon Got Tired Of Playing With His New Toys

When Bray Wyatt returned in 2019 as 'The Fiend,' WWE could have done no wrong. The Firefly Fun House skits were successful, fans went nuts when he hunted legends, and his match against Finn Bálor gave fans exactly what they hoped for.

Then, two matches in, WWE nearly destroyed his run when Wyatt fought Seth Rollins in the infamous 2019 Hell in a Cell match. Closed captioning fans at home received the joy of watching the words "Crowd Boos" as the PPV went off the air.

However, it became clear that Vince McMahon wasn't going to throw away his new toy just yet. At Crown Jewel, Wyatt captured the Universal Championship and went on to rebuild his character.

Unfortunately for Wyatt, he was simply a new toy and not a top favorite.

When Bill Goldberg returned in 2020 to give SmackDown a boost, he was booked to defeat 'The Fiend' at Super ShowDown soon enough. Not only did 'The Fiend' suffer his first defeat, but he was squashed within record time, essentially dismissing how the invincible murder clown plowed through main-eventers beforehand. The grand plan was for Goldberg to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36, but due to the ongoing global health crisis, Wyatt's loss was all for nought.

Alongside Alexa Bliss, Wyatt may have a safe place on the card now. Still, history shows McMahon is willing to toss him aside whenever something bigger or shinier comes along, such as returning Roman Reigns.
