10 Times Vince McMahon Got Tired Of Playing With His New Toys

3. Humberto Carrillo

In 2019 October, WWE announced that NXT wrestler Humberto Carrillo would be part of The Draft. Announcers chatted up Carrillo's debut, often providing fans at home little tidbits about his past and his age. When he arrived on the scene, he didn't start picking up wins right away. What was more important than his losses, however, was to whom he lost.

Right away, Carrillo faced the likes of Universal Champion Seth Rollins and the United States Champion AJ Styles. Although both were losing efforts, it was clear WWE tried to push the young superstar as a serious competitor by pitting him with main event calibre performers. He even teamed up with Randy Orton and Richochet to defeat The O.C.

Alas, one day, McMahon must have grown tired of him, as Carrillo never really climbed up the card and continued to lose if he was lucky enough to appear on WWE programming at all. Announcers went from praising Carrillo's potential to pointing out how he resembled Justin Bieber in the middle of his matches.

Nowadays, there is no guarantee you'll actually see Carrillo on a WWE show. He appears on the sporadic occasions that he's generally relegated to the lower card or nonessential tag team matches. Perhaps, he should remain out of sight and mind until WWE has a better idea of how to capitalize on his talents besides pointing out he's cousins with Angel Garza.
