10 Times Vince McMahon HATED What He Was Seeing

2. Royal Rumble 2005's Clusterf*ck

A dull headliner at In Your House was one thing. A totally botched finish to the Royal Rumble was another.

As John Cena and Batista raced towards the end in 2005, both went tumbling over the top rope to the arena floor and referees scrambled to come up with a way to end the show. They were taking way too long for McMahon's liking, so the annoyed figurehead charged out to the ring and was so full of p*ss and vinegar that he thumped his knees against the ring's steel supports and blew out both quads.

The whole thing was a disaster. Batista, the planned winner, would eventually win when the match was restarted, but not before fans were treated to the visual of a cheesed-off, injured Vince sitting in the ring directing traffic. This had to be McMahon's nightmare scenario, and it was made worse by some torn muscles.

Vince must've despised watching his crew flap about what to do, so he reasoned that he should storm through the curtain and sort things himself. That'd prove to be a mistake. A botched, stilted finish to one of the year's biggest shows and some blown out hamstrings ended the night on a sour note.
