10 Times Vince McMahon HATED What He Was Seeing

9. WrestleMania IV

The long-assed WWF Title tournament at WrestleMania IV was an experiment, and it'd be one Vince ended up regretting. His 14-man idea resulted in endless streams of flat matches that bored fans in Trump Plaza to death and only livened up when Randy Savage became the new champ in the main event.

That headliner occurred approximately 1,292 hours after the card's opening Battle Royal.

If people think WWE pay-per-views are long-winded now, they should check this one out. Bruce Prichard has gone on record (via his podcast) to say that McMahon loathed tourneys and believed it was a mistake to centre 'Mania around one. Still, it was a plan engineered to fit an André vs. Hulk Hogan rematch in, crown a new champ and sow seeds for the following year's 'Mega Powers Explode' saga.

It was worth it then, but not when the card was actually unfolding. Prichard knew Vince was hating on every passing second. Fans likely felt the same when super workers like Jake Roberts and Rick Rude were booked to go to a mind-numbing 15 minute draw.
