10 Times Vince McMahon Loved Big Sweaty Men

6. Mason Ryan

Mason Ryan's appearances on Gladiators caught the eye of WWE who signed him to a five-year contract in 2009, an unprecedented length for a newly signed talent. After one year down in FCW, Ryan made his main roster debut by interfering in a match between CM Punk and John Cena on RAW. He would attack Punk, winning him the match via DQ, big booting the then leader of the New Nexus in the face before receiving an armband and a spot in the group.

Vince McMahon certainly liked the size and perspiration he was seeing as this fast-tracked path to the hottest (ish) angle happening on television at the time proved.

After an 18 month love affair between Ryan and McMahon's affections however, during which he was injured and passed around the roster for a number of feuds, the Welshman had the high of being part of Team Orton at Survivor Series before the low of a demotion to NXT. He would see out the remainder of his contract before being released in 2014.

On the face of things you might believe this is a bit of a weird choice to include in a list of big sweaty men Vince McMahon loved. However, looking at Mason's achievements over such a short space of time, albeit culminating in nothing, once again proved that muscles alone can get you places. Plus, we know all the bigger-named examples, it's nice to throw a red herring at you once in a while.
