10 Times Vince McMahon Loved Big Sweaty Men
5. The Warlord
Kevin Nash tells an endearing story where Warlord is looking for somebody to inject steroids in his arse. This thankless task was given to Shawn Michaels who despite trying to force the needle in there with all his might, told the man from Parts Unknown "I think you're full."
So yes, Warlord's size wasn't natural but that was the WWF back in the late 80s and early 90s before the steroid trial of 1994. Warlord of course admitted using other means to get his size during this trial. Not that he needed to of course, his lack of mobility and flexibility, coupled with the constant look of imminent explosion told everyone with a working pair of eyes all we needed to know.
This was no fault of The Powers Of Pain man however. This was the world and culture Vince McMahon created. If you weren't the biggest and the sweatiest of individuals you simply wouldn't amount to anything. Being under 240 pounds was to your detriment back then, with few Superstars under that weight doing anything of note. Warlord was just trying to swim in a sea full of muscular sharks but while doing so became one of those men who gained notoriety down the his physique and nothing else. He could hide while part of the POP as the far better worker of the pair, The Barbarian, took care of most of the action. When he was cast off on his lonesome however, The Warlord's shortcomings caused Vince to fall out of love with his size.
