10 Times Vince McMahon Screwed His Own Talent

8. Worrying The Warrior

We've recently detailed exactly how The Ultimate Warrior sabotaged his own career through his delusional belief that he was worth more to the WWF than Vince McMahon's pride.

A quick Google search will throw up the verbatim text of Warrior's rambling, ranting July 1991 fax to McMahon demanding a change to his contractual terms. Warrior wanted something more in line with what Hulk Hogan was making, considering himself as big a star in the company and as important to the WWF's bottom line.

This was not the case. But incredibly, this wasn't the most delusional thing about Warrior's position... because McMahon capitulated to Warrior's every demand in a fawning letter back that was designed, word by word, to stroke Warrior's ego like a masseuse.

Even back in 1991, McMahon was well known to be a shark. Still, somehow Warrior kidded himself into thinking that he'd won: that the man who'd taken on the entire North American wrestling business with nothing but a load of stolen ideas and more chutzpah than the Devil himself had surrendered to his nonsensical, overblown bullsh*t.

Imagine the vindictive satisfaction that Vince must have taken in penning the post-SummerSlam letter that suspended Warrior, erasing every perk, every pay bump he'd promised him and telling him exactly what he thought of his attempt to hold up the WWF.

So did Vince screw the Warrior, or did the Warrior screw himself? He absolutely sabotaged his own career: but when a McMahon screws you, you get screwed to the floor.
