10 Times Vince McMahon Shook Things Up In WWE

9. Placed The Belt On Himself

Not everything Vince McMahon has done to shake things up has been wholly positive. In reality, Vince winning the WWF Heavyweight Title was nowhere near as bad as some of the people WCW put the top strap on, such as actor David Arquette, but it came pretty damn close. Let's be honest, it's not really a huge surprise that the evil Mr. McMahon character held the top title at least once, it pretty much was always going to happen at some point. With that in mind, it would have been nice to see McMahon actually lose the belt. Instead, after surprisingly winning the title from Triple H (with a bit of help from his old rival, Steve Austin), the newly-turned face McMahon would simply vacate the thing the following week. Just a short while later, Triple H would win the vacant title in a 'Six-Pack Challenge' match at the Unforgiven 1999 Pay-Per-View, leading many people to wonder what the point even was of having Vince win the belt in the first place. Sure, 'The Game' and Vince would feud for the rest of the year, but the title didn't really need to be a part of that. It did have eyebrows raising however, seeing McMahon standing tall in the ring with the WWF Title.
