After trying to force guys like Mabel into the main event scene, it was clear that the WWF roster was thin on the ground. Vince McMahon didn't have too many options, but he looked hopefully at the incoming Ahmed Johnson to click with fans and spark some interest in what was a failing product.

Debuting in late-1995, Johnson was another thick and muscular performer who had raw potential. Sadly, he was another who was prone to being reckless inside the ring. Stiff and clumsy, Ahmed had a nasty habit of either injuring himself or hurting opponents during matches.

Upon winning the Intercontinental Title from Goldust at the 1996 King Of The Ring, it seemed only a matter of time before Johnson would be chasing the WWF Title. Kidney issues would get in the way of that, and Ahmed's star was never the same following a feud with Faarooq in 1997.

Joining The Nation Of Domination that year, a hasty heel turn didn't last. Shortly before WrestleMania XIV, he was released from contract. Another pet project hadn't been able to cut it in the long run.
