10 Times Women's Wrestling SERIOUSLY Kicked Ass

6. Red Equals Green For Britt Baker And Thunder Rosa

A masterclass in matchmaking, booking and execution, the Thunder Rosa/Britt Baker programme represented the peak of women's wrestling during the pandemic for All Elite Wrestling, and the fact that their big payoff match ended with Baker defeat spoke volumes about its ability to put and get both wrestlers over.

Rosa didn't merely win - she survived. A bloody war waged to a still-mostly-empty Daily's Place on the March 17th 2021 edition of Dynamite was fought under its Unsanctioned Lights Out rules, and had to be to justify the hostilities between the two in a programme that at long last made the best use of the remarkably over heel Baker had become during a difficult and different 2020.

Going through tables and tacks en route to finishing one feud while starting a legacy one, the pair at long last reimagined how good the division could be in the company. For a change, they were permitted to chose the type of violence normally unfairly boxed off for the men, and set up something much longer term. Rosa's win here didn't entitle her to a shot at the Women's Championship because the contest wasn't counted by the rankings. It took her one full year to seal the deal for real, and it was Baker she beat.
