4. Austin Aries As Suicide

When Austin Aries was flying high in TNA’s X Division, “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” was on the top of his game. A consistent performer in the ring and a good talker on the mic, Aries was quickly becoming a must-see part of TNA television each week.

One trait that made him so unmissable was his unpredictability and his penchant for “Option C”; in other words, the right for the X Division Champion to face the TNA World Heavyweight Champ at Destination X.

In 2012, Aries had made a name for himself by doing just that, walking out of Destination X as TNA Champ. So when the opportunity to invoke Option C reared its head in 2013, every wrestler in the X Division was intent on securing the X Division gold, in the hopes of a shot at World Title glory.

When Suicide won the X Title on the eve of Destination X, the victory came as a surprise to many TNA fans. Even more surprising was the revelation made by authority figure, Hulk Hogan, that the man behind the Suicide mask, TJ Perkins, had been attacked and replaced before the match.

All of which meant that the man that held the X Division Title was not the real Suicide. That man was, in fact, revealed to be Austin Aries, looking to cash in on Option C for the second time.
