It is a move as simple as it comes, the roundhouse kick. Very little, if any, cooperation is required. The opponent stands in position. The deliverer swings their foot into the side of their head. Done.

Your neighbour's dog could do a roundhouse kick if it wanted to.

Point is, Trish Stratus, a transcendent and flashy worker whose flawless bounce-off-the-ropes Stratusfaction bulldog eroded the need for any banal strike, executed it to perfection. Dubbed the Chick Kick because, lol, she's a woman, Stratus traditionally swung her entire lower leg into the opponent's face, wiping them out clean. It was the perfect out-of-nowhere strike to combat the more strenuous setup that her Stratusfaction required.

But at WrestleMania 22, Mickie James achieved in one night what it took Trish Stratus a career to.

A match designed to cement Mickie as Trish's successor, this was the spot - the match-winning spot - that she needed for audiences to believe in her. Rather than swing her leg across Stratus' entire face like a Power Slap knockout, Mickie used only her ankle to pull the trigger on such a believable killshot, an execution that was elevated further by Trish taking a tumble to the floor. She was in a heap.
