Who the hell brings a dart gun to the matches?!

On 1 December 1973, Stan Stasiak shocked the world by beating Pedro Morales to bag the WWWF Title. He'd drop the belt to Bruno Sammartino on 10 December, but not before working a few more dates opposite Pedro in places like New York and Boston.

During a show in the latter, Stasiak was blindsided by an attack nobody could've predicted. An inventive fan lined up their target and blasted Stan in the leg with a dart. The painful shot could easily have flown into someone's face, or ended up striking another punter instead of the despised heel champion.

The Boston Garden responded by putting up a big green net that'd catch any missiles. Stasiak wasn't permanently harmed, but he took a bloody dart in the leg - there was some blood, and the venue upped its security measures to make sure nothing like that ever happened again.

Points for originality, if nothing else.
