10 Times Wrestlers Were Injured By The Fans

3. Ole Anderson

Stasiak just had to wipe off some blood and get his wound checked out. He got lucky, at least compared to one Ole Anderson. The gruff veteran went under the knife for an arduous four-hour surgery to repair damaged tendons after being stabbed in the chest and arms backstage in 1976.

Yes, backstage.

Ole and partner Gene had just worked a tag-team bout against Tim Woods and Dino Bravo - the match had passed without incident, and it probably entertained the Georgia crowd on hand. When he returned behind the curtain though, Anderson was ambushed and stuck repeatedly by a crazed fan.

The wrestler needed dozens of stitches to close his cuts, and he suffered through surgery. Amazingly, Anderson appeared on TV just two days later. That wouldn't be allowed today; if anything, you'd think Ole would be traumatised by the attack and fancy some time off to heal physically and mentally.

Nope. He got fixed up, returned to work and wrestled through his injuries.
