10 Times Wrestlers Were Literally Given Championships

8. Mideon (WWF European Title)

Established in 1997, the WWE European Championship was meant to capitalise on the company's rampant success in Europe.

However, by the time Shawn Michaels had controversially wrestled the title away from the British Bulldog in the UK and given it to his mate Triple H three months later, any standing the title could or should have had was over.

By time the then untrained Shane McMahon captured the title from X-Pac in a tag team match in 1999, Shane felt it was best for himself and title to retire as champion.

That should have been it for the European title, a championship as prestigious in the European continent as the Intertoto Cup, but alas it was not to be.

On what appeared to be a routine rummage through people's affairs, Ministry soothsayer Mideon discovered the title in Shane O'Mac's bags three months later.

Before he could pawn it for scrap metal, the gracious younger McMahon offered the belt to Mideon, who declared himself the new European champion.

Mideon dropped the strap to D-Lo Brown a month later and began running around arenas in a thong and bum bag before finishing up with WWE in 2001.
