10 Times Wrestlers Were Too Silly For Their Own Good
7. Kevin Owens
When Kevin Owens arrived on the main roster, he was given quite the push by overcoming John Cena in his debut match, and his dominance made quite the impression on fans. Even though WWE preferred more of a Randy Orton-type, it seemed as though the NXT darling was getting a chance to make a lasting impact.
That ended up being far from the case. It wasn't long before KO fell down the card, treated like a sweater and hung up until the title scene got chilly or the champ needed another foe to overcome.
While there were a few cheap victories along the way, Owens was often found taking sophomoric jabs at his adversaries when he wasn't part of a comedy duo. One of the main issues he had was that he was good at handling anything thrown his way, no matter how ridiculous. Additionally, he was funny enough to make both fans and his peers pop (just ask Roman Reigns) on a regular basis that it seemed WWE preferred him in a lighter, mid-card position than a constant in the main event picture.
The creative team may not always be on his side when they're booking him to take a port-a-potty ride, but Owens could regain his title as a prizefighter by dropping some of his off-the-cuff zingers and favoring his more vicious side seen during his 2020 TLC match with Reigns.
