CM Punk went through 30 minutes of excruciating pain to overcome Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell. But he didn't need much effort to defeat Jack Swagger on the 9 January 2012 episode of Raw, as the referee made it much easier for him.

With Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero in his corner, Jack Swagger seemed to have the advantage when he walked into the match against CM Punk, the reigning WWE Champion. The contest did have a decent back-and-forth action, and the final moments saw Punk and Swagger battling on the turnbuckles. Punk headbutted Swagger down to the mat, delivered his signature flying elbow drop, and went for the pin.

Jack Swagger was supposed to kick out at two, which he promptly did, however, the referee ignored it and finished the three count and called for the bell. Punk looked angry after the finish and didn't stop himself from lashing out against the referee, and even the commentary team acknowledged the mishap.

The match did go on for twelve minutes, but judging by everyone's expression, it appears it was supposed to go on for another few minutes or until Punk scored the win with the GTS.
