10 Times Wrestlers Worked Their Way Into A Job
7. Will Ospreay (NJPW)
Look at that fresh-faced, bright-eyed Junior Heavyweight. Seeing where he is now, it is easy to forget just how far William Ospreay has come in his career. Especially since he made his debut with New Japan Pro Wrestling and then shortly after when he became the youngest Best of the Super Junior winner of all-time.
He certainly was an amazing Jr Heavyweight, maybe even the best to ever do it, depending on who you ask. But we always knew there was more in store for the Aerial Assassin; he was just too good not to be mixing it up with the Naitos and the Okadas of the world. In order to do that, a significant amount of weight needed to be put on and he made his main goal moving up to the Heavyweight division to go after the company's top prize. Ospreay has been documenting his weight gain progress on his social media and slowly, but surely, has become jacked.
Ospreay is literally the definition of a wrestler who has worked their way into their job. He has worked his ass off to get to where he is and is finally in line with the Heavyweights. To solidify his Heavyweight status, he'll be facing off with Okada at Wrestle Kingdom in January. Even more amazingly, Ospreay has retained his high flying abilities, despite the extra weight he has to carry. The future only goes up from here for the leader of The Empire.
