10 Times Wrestling Crowds Actually RUINED The Moment

7. Lesnar Vs. Goldberg, WrestleMania XX

Fans can be brought to see a great match, but they can't be made to cheer. Few matches are dead on arrival, but the rowdy New York City fans in Madison Square Garden were intent on killing this one before it could ever get started. News had gotten out before the match took place that Goldberg would be leaving the company, and also that Brock Lesnar would be heading out so he could pursue a career in the NFL.

Now, at indie shows, often fans want to give wrestlers a proper sendoff in their final match. Many times, fans regale wrestlers with chants of "We will miss you," or "Please don't go!" For this time though, fans showered down nothing but boos and accusations of being a sell-out. They were positively checked out.

Goldberg and Lesnar have proven in both their Survivor Series and Wrestlemania 33 encounters that they are both capable of having good matches with each other, but in this instance not even Goldberg doing a 450 splash could pop the crowd.

Instead the two of them checked out, and postured, and postured, and hit rest holds, and locked up, and postured, before Lesnar took the pin and flipped off the crowd.

This match could have been good but the fans didn't want it to be.
