Hyped up as one of the biggest matches of all-time, WCW (and WWE) fans were eagerly anticipating Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash going at it for the WCW Heavyweight Championship. The crowd was electric and those at home were on the edge of their seats. When the bell finally rang, what everyone ended up being was sorely disappointed. Instead of getting a match between the two, Hogan simply poked Nash in the chest - now known as "The Finger Poke of Doom" - and pinned him. With that, the title had changed hands in one of the most shocking (not in a good way) moments in WCW history. This decision would come back to haunt them in a big way. What WCW had perhaps thought was clever ended up sending viewers back to Monday Night Raw during those all important ratings battles of the Monday Night Wars. The backlash was wide and vocal, and would ultimately only help to accelerate the already declining fortunes of the business.
