10 Times Wrestling Legends Returned (And NOBODY Cared)
7. Tatanka (2016)
The 2016 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal was a bit weird, wasn't it?
It was won by Baron Corbin, who, at the time, was no more than a comparatively decent Performance Center graduate who'd done a cool move or two in NXT, so that was weird enough.
Shaquille O'Neal ran out as a last-minute entrant in one of those glorified WrestleMania 'moments' that's somehow gone forgotten. Weird, right?
Then, there was Tatanka. Tatanka! At WrestleMania! In 2016!
Indeed, the Battle Royal field stood in the ring, awaiting the arrival of the bigger names. It was a sea of goobers as you'd expect with such filler, but standing next to Heath Slater, R-Truth, and Darren Young was the fabled 'Native American'. What's hilarious is that he was reportedly intended to be sent out individually to receive the same sort of nostalgia pop that Diamond Dallas Page and Shaquille O'Neal got but alas, off he went with The Social Outcasts and indeed the real social outcasts of the WrestleMania card without so much as an 'oh' or an 'ah'.
Tatanka's very existence went almost entirely unmentioned by commentary until they spotted him hammering Darren Young, which only made his one-off comeback more strange, almost as if he got lost on his way back from WrestleCon.
