10 Times Wrestling Matches Got Weapons Wrong

6. MONITOR - Dean Ambrose Vs. Bray Wyatt, WWE TLC 2014

A double shovel that made a complete t*t out of both Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt, the ending to TLC 2014 illustrated the creative decline of a company that the subsequent five years have proved inexorable.

WWE's imagining of the Dean Ambrose character is a meme, now, but it was very apparent even then. They took a classic, never-say-die archetype - your classic badass with more balls than sense - and turned him into a dipsh*t with no brains in his head at all through its trademark Flanderisation process except, of course, without the seminal bits at the beginning.

At the end of a punishing war, Ambrose, with an assortment of weapons at his legal disposal, instead elected to strike Bray Wyatt with a TV monitor: a weapon less effective than the steel chairs he had already used to unsuccessful effect in the match. It made no logical sense that it would work, and he couldn't even work it correctly: he didn't realise it was still attached to a cable, and it blew up in his face. Vince McMahon famously hates smoke, but will happily use it to make a top babyface prospect look like an a**hole.

They made him blow a kiss, too, to make him look that bit more of a complete moron. And he stopped!

He even stopped, noticed the cable, and did it anyway because HE'S HOMER SIMPSON ARRRGHHHH!
