10 Times Wrestling Matches Got Weapons Wrong

3. SLEDGEHAMMER: Too Many Triple H Matches, E.G. All Of The Ones He Used Them In

Yes, we get it, you really want to be Thor.

First used in 1999, most vividly in the memory during a rare Casket match on RAW between the Rock and the Undertaker, Triple H's weapon of choice is both dumb and sad.

It's all bullsh*t if you think about it too much, the pro wrestling weapon. The foreign object works as an act of deception and a way to get heat/beat a babyface, but a weapon permitted through stipulations risks lawsuits and badly injured workers who are very much needed, they're seemingly hidden under the ring in secret, creating a not ideal mental image...

People just let it go, and don't think about it, which is easy enough when a wrestler doesn't smash you over the head with it, which a sledgehammer makes difficult. And Triple H doesn't even hit people over the head with it!

After breaking Rock's cast in an admittedly tremendous use of sleight of hand, he subsequently just held it funny, covered the blunt metal with his hand, and used a short jabbing motion to knock his opponents out.

So a punch, then, but one that looks cool, even if it has no logical basis to it. Which is essentially the sort of wrestling habit his multi-million dollar Performance Center aims to stamp out.

Fantastic.
