8. Randy Savage And Miss Elizabeth's Reunion
After Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage found success as The Mega Powers, Savage’s real-life wife Miss Elizabeth began managing both men. However, Savage’s storyline jealousy boiled over. A conflicted Elizabeth took a neutral corner at their WWF Championship match at WrestleMania V.
THE REBOUND!
Savage was furious that he lost his WWF Championship because of Hulk Hogan’s “manager”. He unceremoniously declared he was through with Elizabeth, ending one of wresting’s most beloved couples. Savage announced his new manager, the flamboyant nutjob, legitimate hard-woman, able to rock a world champion with her screech alone, Sensational Sherri.
THE SPURNED LOVER!
Unlike soaps with slashed tyres and drinks thrown in faces, professional wrestling has numerous ways a spurned lover can strike back. Elizabeth chose to do it in the ring. She managed Savage and Sherri’s rivals to victory.
REUNION!
Despite Sherri’s best efforts, Savage lost his Retirement Match at WrestleMania VII. Sherri snapped from dumbstruck to destructive lashing out at a floored Savage. Elizabeth jumped the guardrail with tears in her eyes and threw Sherri from the ring by her hair. After some uncertainty Savage and Elizabeth leapt into a hug. He raised her up on his shoulders, with his regal theme song adding to the fairy tale feel. Members of the crowd openly wept with joy.
