10 Times WWE Accidentally Brought Awful Gimmicks Back From The Dead
3. Karrion Kross Part I - Marc Mero
The last three entries will be doing something different as all three are going to focus on Karrion Kross and how WWE have been setting him up to fail.
First up: Scarlett. The ever-contentious Jim Cornette hit the nail squarely on the head when he said that WWE had only succeeded in making a star out of Kross' valet, rather than Kross himself. Time has proven the controversial critic right, as Kross' NXT swansong against Samoa Joe was soundtracked by chants of "WE WANT SCARLETT!".
NXT only have themselves to blame for this. All of Kross' rivals have made the point that all of his appeal comes from the woman by his side and that if you take her away, you're left with a bog-standard wrestler. Like Lance Storm before him, this kind of backwards scripting has played a huge role in causing audiences to turn on Kross, effectively turning him into Marc Mero 2.0.
Just as Mero became irrelevant in the face of his wife's increasing popularity, Kross has already become a sideshow in the Scarlett circus.
