10 Times WWE Accidentally Created A Star

1. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan didn’t fit the mould. Too small, too scruffy, too “indie.” WWE saw him as a dependable midcarder — not someone to headline WrestleMania. But fans saw something else.

His rise began with Team Hell No — a comedy tag team with Kane that somehow became one of the most beloved acts on the roster. Bryan’s in-ring brilliance and natural charisma started to shine, and the crowd took notice. By 2013, he was breaking out as a singles star… and getting screwed at every turn.

The fans had had enough.

The “Yes!” chant, once a tongue-in-cheek celebration, became a full-blown rebellion. Crowds hijacked segments, pay-per-views, even Raw main events — demanding Bryan get his due. WWE tried to ignore it. They pushed Batista. The fans pushed back harder.

Eventually, they gave in. Bryan was inserted into the WrestleMania XXX main event and delivered one of the most emotional victories in WWE history.

It wasn’t just a title win. It was a movement. And without it, we’d have ended WrestleMania 30 with Batista Vs. Randy Orton. Imagine.
