10 Times WWE Best Used Blood

WrestleMania XIX is chock-full of memorable matches and moments. Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho had a hands-down classic, Rock and Austin met for the final match of Stone Cold’s career, and Brock Lesnar nearly paralyzed himself performing a shooting star press on Kurt Angle. In the midst of all this, however, is a street fight between Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon with Hogan’s career on the line.

A match like this was going to be tricky. After all, one of the participants was a bloated, middle-aged non-wrestler who can hardly move... and the other was Vince (BA-ZING). Seriously though, both men knew they weren't going to be putting on a wrestling match, and so to compensate, they made each other bleed like stuck pigs.

Apart from the shock value of seeing two men in their fifties bleeding from unprotected chair shots, the claret accentuated the blood feud angle they were going for. The story behind the match is that Vince wanted to destroy Hulkamania due to Hogan’s transgressions in the '90s (leaving for WCW, testifying in the steroid trial, etc). It’s not hard to imagine Hogan and McMahon having genuine bad blood, so seeing it spilled in the ring makes it feel more like true animosity than Austin/McMahon ever did.
